The Bible teaches us that we are to work for peace and justice in our world. There are many different ways we do this as a congregation. Including the following:
As a congregation we tithe a portion of all receipts to support mission through the larger church including missionaries, Bible camps, campus ministries, mission starts, inner city ministries, disaster response, world hunger and much more.
Meal for Everyone (COME)
A monthly hot nutritious dinner served on the 4th Tuesday of each month at no charge to anyone who chooses to come. The meal is made possible through donations of individuals and groups in the community and the many volunteers who cook and serve the meal.
Provide Christmas gifts for local families in need.
Working with Samaritan's Purse to collect shoeboxes filled with gifts for a child in need. St. John's also serves as a Relay Center, a drop off location for other area churches.
Collecting food donations to support the Spencer area food pantry.
Collecting donations of quilts, sewing kits, layettes, school kits, health kits, soap, clothing and money to provide worldwide relief, comfort, aid and hope.
